Rice bran oil
Description
Rice Bran Oil (Oryza sativa) is a fine, non-greasy oil, excellent for the care of the delicate area around the eyes, for dull, mature skin, for applications intended to soothe sensitive and couperose skin, and for lightweight formulas destined for combination or oily skin.
Extracted from rice bran, the nutrient-rich brown outer layer of the cereal, through a pressing process followed by a light refining for dewaxing and deodorization. Unlike other oils, the refining process is optimized to preserve a large portion of the lipophilic complex called Gamma-Oryzanol (composed of ferulic acid esters with phytosterols), a potent antioxidant complex specific to rice, these being exactly the molecules that give it its outstanding cosmetic value.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is gamma-oryzanol?
It is a natural blend of ferulic acid esters with phytosterols, specific to rice bran. It has documented antioxidant properties, stronger than those of vitamin E alone. It contributes to protection against photoaging.
Is the Ellemental product refined or unrefined?
It is lightly refined (dewaxed, deodorized), a physical process that removes waxes and the specific odor, without destroying the lipophilic active compounds.
Is it suitable for oily skin?
Its light texture recommends it for combination or slightly oily skin, unlike denser oils with a similar antioxidant profile.
