Hello Diana, You can replace distilled water with certain floral waters. In the case of this recipe for the eye area, we recommend: cornflower, immortelle or Damask rose water.

Instead of distilled water can we use floral water? Chamomile, neroli for example. Thank you!

Hello Florica, Yes, you can replace the Fragard preservative with Cosgard, but the final product will lose the subtle and pleasant fragrance given by the Fragard preservative. Rice oil can be replaced with shea butter, but the cream will lose its non-greasy texture. Acmella extract can be replaced with Dragon's Blood extract or Schisandra in the same quantity.

Hello. In this recipe could I replace fragard preservatives with cosgard? I understand that rice oil can be substituted with shea butter, but an alternative for acmella extract what could it be? Thank you!

Choosing an airless container, keeping the product refrigerated and 1% preservative dosage (fragard or cosgard) increases the shelf life up to a year or more. But it also depends on the formula and all the ingredients. If you sell these cosmetic preparations, and not just use them yourself, you must do tests, including the so-called challenge test, to determine their shelf life according to the standards. Have a nice day!

I make the cosmetics in a small lab ( I am a biologist) and I purchase the necessary ingredients from you. If I recommend refrigerated storage and increase the percentage to 1% of the fragard preservative, how much does the shelf life increase, can it go towards 6 months or even more? Does this also apply to cosgard preservative? Can the airless type container help to increase the shelf life( in the situation where the cream is no longer exposed? Thanks in advance!

Hello. For home-prepared cosmetics, we recommend Fragard for shelf life up to 3 months, but if working under laboratory conditions and following GMP, the shelf life of the cosmetic product can be much longer. You can increase the concentration up to 1%, in which case part (0.6%) of the preservative is added to the aqueous phase and the rest to the final phase. Refrigerated storage of the cosmetic product contributes to prolong shelf life. Thank you for your appreciation and trust,

Hello! I saw from the fragard preservative data sheet that the dosage is 0.6% and provides up to 3 months preservation. Please, can you tell me if it is possible to extend the shelf life beyond 3 months using fragard? Can one increase the concentration of 0, 6%? Does it matter if the cosmetic product is kept in the refrigerator? How can this be solved? Thanks a lot! I appreciate all you do!
