Description
Hydralay Surfactant - Biolipid with a structure similar to the skin's own lipids, for moisturizing and gentle cleansing formulations.
Hydralay Surfactant is primarily used as a lipid layer enhancer for surfactant-based cleansing preparations, contributing to a feeling of gentleness and comfort far beyond that of conventional cleansing formulas. It also enhances the viscosity of surfactant-based formulas.
It is a blend of an alkyl glucoside (Coco-Glucoside) and a fatty acid glycerol ester (Glyceryl Oleate). The latter, glyceryl monooleate, is structurally similar to a lipid naturally present in human skin, which is why the manufacturer describes it as a “biolipid”.

Studies and Scientific Documentation
According to tests conducted by the manufacturer, lipid extraction from the skin showed a reduction in the level of glyceryl monooleate ("biolipid") immediately after washing, followed by a recovery of this level 4 hours after using a product formulated with this ingredient – data interpreted by the manufacturer as evidence of the deposition and persistence of the "biolipid" on the skin. Additionally, at a 5% dosage, the alkyl glucoside content (a surfactant with high dermatological value) contributes approximately 1.7% to the total active washing substance of the formula, allowing for a reduction in the amount of primary or secondary surfactant. These data originate from the manufacturer's internal testing, not from independent clinical studies.

I use it in sulfate-free shower gels, it increases the viscosity of the finished product nicely, it also helps with foaming.
