I made this gel for my 7 year old daughter and ordered my ingredients to make it again as I noticed it leaves her skin velvety soft, doesn't dry it out and I don't use much in a shower either.

Hello. I got a ph of 5 -5,5, after 2 maps tried. Should I leave it like that or adjust with a little bicarbonate? If I have to add bicarbonate .... how %? Or do I put a little and retest? Thanks.

Hello! In this formula not an oil is the good choice for moisturizing but glycerin, you can add 5-7% by decreasing the water dosage appropriately. To add 2% or more vegetable oil, you need to rethink the formula for a shower cream in which, as you anticipate, Varisoft can be used - you can draw inspiration from recipes formulated with this emulsifier. Alpha emulsifier would not be a good choice for this application.

hello! if I want to add a little more than 2% oil for extra moisturizing, do I necessarily have to add varisoft or can I use another emulsifier?is alpha emulsifier incompatible with anything in the list of ingredients? and if not how do you advise me to use it? Thanks a lot!

Hello! You can add about 20 drops, but it is not necessary. Just fine!

Hello! Without the xanthan gum, the solution will be runny enough to be drinkable in a foamer bottle. It can also be used as liquid soap for hands and any body area. Adjust the water dosage appropriately. Good luck!

Hello ! I have a question : if I remove the xanthan gum, can I put the gel in a foamer bottle ? Can it also be used as liquid hand soap? And if yes, should I adjust another percentage? Thank you !

Dear Ildiko, these mineral pigments do not colour the skin or the bath. If you apply it concentrated on the skin, it will stick to it. Have a nice day!

Thank you for the recipe! I will definitely try it! I was wondering if these pigments (mica) would stain the tub or the child's skin? I'm afraid that my little girl will spill it all over herself and come out of the bathroom pink....:-)

Geanina, don't confuse translucent with transparent. You only keep the tenside on the water bath for a few minutes, until it becomes fluid and translucent (i.e. no longer white and opaque). The foam will subside after preparing the composition on the following day.

Tense consistency to become transparent how long would it have to stay on the steam bath? Should it be stirred in or not? I saw it forms a white foam on top , what happens with it? I kept it on the steam bath for an hour and it didn't become transparent. Thanks

Hello Geanina. The calculation is simple: depending on the quantity of the prepared product we relate to the dosage of the ingredients, for example if we prepare 100 ml shower gel, 1% is 1 gr, 5% is 5 gr and so on. If we prepare 250 ml, we calculate with 250 x 1% = 2.5 g or 250 x 5% = 12.5 g, etc. The total of the ingredients is also important, which must be 100%. Hibiscus flowers need to be macerated, the powder does not dissolve completely in water (the threads remain), and if you use the macerate immediately in a recipe, then there is no need to preserve it separately.

Hello! Please if you can explain or guide me how I calculate the percentage of ingredients (I have seen that you give some indications with adding new ingredients in the procen, but I don't understand how to calculate it)....may be there is some formula. And if instead of pigment to this shower gel I can put hibiscus flowers (tb necessarily macerated or I can put directly powder....maceratul powder if I make it and put it immediately in the gel more tb preserved separately)? Thanks

Hello lilia. Sure, you can remove it, it will result in a colorless-slightly yellowish product.
