Cetyl Alcohol – Consistency Agent, Co-emulsifier, Stabilizer
Cetyl Alcohol is a structural consistency agent, emulsion stabilizer, and emollient. A plant-derived fatty alcohol used to increase the viscosity, stability, and consistency of cosmetic formulations, it imparts a pleasant, velvety feel to the skin. It provides a dry emolliency and reduces excess greasiness in formulations. It features better absorption compared to longer-chain fatty alcohols.

Formulation Guide
- Procedure: Add to the oil phase and heat to approximately 65°C or as required by the remaining ingredients in the formulation.
- Recommended Usage Dosage: 1% - 5% in lighter creams; 4% - 8% in dense creams or hair conditioners; up to 15% in solid anhydrous formulations.
- Stability: Stable across a wide pH range, good compatibility with most standard cosmetic ingredients.
