Self-tanning cream for skin and body
Formula: 5201 Difficulty level: medium Shelf life: min 3 months pH optimal: 5.5-6.5

Phase Ingredients Dosage % Total 100 gr
A Coconut oil 20 20 gr
A Emulsifier Olliva 5 5 gr
B Pure / distilled water 57,4 57,4 gr
B Glycerin 5 5 gr
C DHA natural self tanner 12 12 gr
C Cosgard 0,6 0,6 gr

1. Heat the ingredients of phases A and B separately up to 70°C in a heat-resistant glass on a water bath. When both phases have reached the right temperature, remove from heat.

2. Add the contents of phase A to phase B with mixing, continue mixing until smooth.

3. Place the beaker in a bowl of cold water and blend until a smooth, glossy, homogeneous emulsion is formed.

4. When the mixture has cooled to below 40°C, add the Phase C ingredients and mix thoroughly until smooth.

5. Transfer the mixture to the dedicated container. The consistency will be final the next day.

A smooth cream with a discreet coconut oil fragrance. Self-tanning cream does not provide sun protection. It can be applied to the body and skin alike and does not require sun exposure.

The cream will cause the skin to colour in a harmless process in the upper layers of the skin within a few hours of application. For people with fair skin or those who want a discreet tan, the percentage in DHA can be reduced by half by supplementing the percentage of water in phase B accordingly.

We recommend exfoliating the skin (exfoliation) beforehand to achieve an even colour. Apply a moderate amount to the skin and try to distribute it as evenly as possible in circular motions. Insist on even distribution, being careful not to apply twice to the same area. On areas with thicker skin (knees, elbows) apply a thinner layer. Wash your hands thoroughly after using the cream. The skin gradually returns to its natural colour as the upper layers exfoliate.

Hello Cornelia, In this formula, due to the sensitivity of the DHA self-tanner, we do not recommend replacing the emulsifier. we wish you!

Hello! Can another emulsifier be used in this formula? If yes, which one? ?

Hello! You can do the suggested substitution, the 10% dosage is fine in such a formula because DHA is quite drying to the skin. Good luck!

Hello! Can you replace glycerin with propanediol? If yes, can I add 10% by decreasing the percentage of water? Thanks for your answer :)

Hello! In this case the results may vary from person to person, but you are less likely to get a uniform color. It's worth a try.

Good morning, please let me know if it's ok to use it for even skin color like in the picture. Or each shade will darken in color with the same number of shades, persisting the difference? Thanks

Hello, Diana. The cream can destabilize, we do not recommend. You can possibly add liquid DHA to the portion of cream you use in an application.

Hello, Wetness affects most powders. Most likely the DHA self-tanner has become more grainy, it compacts slightly, but is still usable.

Good evening, First of all, wonderful cream indeed, as indeed all on the site:-) Something strange happened to my DHA...after a while (kept in optimal conditions) it turned into a transparent liquid with crystallized pieces....I used it even so and it seems that the transformation did not affect its qualities. I would still like to know what happens to it.... Thanks.

Hello, First of all...wonderful cream, like everything on the site. However, something strange happened to me with the DHA....after a while (kept in optimal conditions) the white hairs turned into a transparent liquid, which in some places solidified into something white-transparent. However, I used it in the composition of the cream and it didn't affect its qualities at all.... What could be the cause??? Thanks.
