MCT oil
Description
MCT Oil is a reference oil base for any cosmetic formulation, a lightweight, penetrating neutral emollient that leaves no greasy residue on the skin, spreads easily, and is resistant to oxidation. It can be used in creams, emulsions, and various cosmetic preparations, and it is also an excellent carrier for essential oils.
Its texture is fine and fairly dry, with good absorption. This neutrality makes it optimal for all skin types; it is free from major allergenic potential and remains stable over time without requiring additional antioxidants. It is the ideal base for essential oils in aromatherapy applications, as well as the suitable solvent for liposoluble extracts and active ingredients.

Usage & Synergies
Face care
MCT Oil is the dilution base and vehicle of choice for almost any oily serum, emulsified serum, cream, or facial formula, including for oily, combination, or problematic skin, where heavier vegetable oils are contraindicated. It does not have an active effect of its own on the skin, but it enhances the action of the active ingredients with which it is combined.
Practical recommendations
- Basic oily serum: Use as a base in which to dissolve essential oils, oily active ingredients, or combine it with active vegetable oils.
- Carrier for concentrated active ingredients: Dilute dense or volatile oils in MCT oil to reduce concentration and improve sensory appeal.
- Base for oil perfumes: Odorless and colorless, it is the preferred solvent for pulse-point perfumes based on essential oils.
Synergies in face care
As a base for a lightweight anti-aging serum, the synergy with Cherry Kernel Oil and Coenzyme Q10 offers a fine texture for the morning routine. For oily skin with blemishes, the association with Organic Black Cumin Oil and purifying essential oils allows for the dilution of active ingredients and substances to a precise dosage. As a base for a soothing serum, the combination with Centella Asiatica Oil and Bisabolol maintains a fine texture.
Body care
At the body level, MCT Oil is the base for lightweight massage oils, after-sun formulas, non-greasy body oils, and products for sensitive baby skin. Odorless and hypoallergenic, it is the safe choice for formulas intended for skin with multiple sensitivities.
Practical recommendations
- Neutral massage oil: Use pure or scented with essential oils. Its rapid absorption and lightweight texture make it recommended over denser oils.
- Ingredient in body creams: Use in the oil phase to prepare emulsions, creams, and body milks in various textures and themes.
- Scented body oils: Dissolve essential oil blends in MCT Oil for scented body oils with a longer-lasting fragrance than in alcohol.
Synergies in body care
As a relaxing massage base, the synergy with Lavender Essential Oil and Calendula Oil offers a gentle and soothing formula. For a lightweight anti-aging body oil, it pairs well, for instance, with Milk Thistle Oil, Acmella In-Tense, and Vitamin E.
Hair care
On hair, MCT Oil is a light vehicle for scalp serums, and it is a good choice for conditioner formulas for fine hair.
Practical recommendations
- Base for scalp serums: Dilute active essential oils (Rosemary, Tea Tree) in MCT Oil for scalp serums with a controlled concentration.
- Hair leave-in: Combine with Phyto-Silicone and apply a few drops to the ends, the dry texture does not weigh down the strands.
Synergies in hair care
As a base for an anti-dandruff scalp serum, the synergy with Organic Black Cumin Oil and Tea Tree Essential Oil allows for precise dosing of the active ingredients.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between Caprilis and MCT Oil?
They are very similar; Caprilis comes exclusively from coconut oil, whereas MCT oil is derived from various vegetable oils such as palm or rapeseed.
Is MCT Oil a natural or synthetic product?
It is a product of 100% natural origin. Although it is processed (through hydrolysis, distillation, and re-esterification) to isolate certain fatty acids, the raw material is exclusively plant oil, so it is not a product of petrochemical synthesis.
