Hello! Interesting recipe, especially the addition of sodium PCA, which apparently also works well in anhydrous preparations at low dosage, like glycerin. Thanks, Ioana!

Hello, I tried to follow the proportions in the recipe but with other ingredients that I already had at home and I found a body butter formula with a texture very close to the texture of a cream. It goes quickly into the skin and doesn't leave that strong oily feeling of body butter and it's a good moisturizer. I leave the recipe here for inspiration : shea butter 46,4 gr, vegetable silicone 18,6 gr, macadamia oil 18 gr, sodium PCA 1 gr (although it is insoluble in oil it is well incorporated), lanolin 5 gr, 5 drops vitamin E, 86 drops of fragrant oil.

Hello! You can replace Caprilis with rice oil, and regarding the essential oil I have replied below to the previous comment.

Hello! By removing the essential oil or fragrance from the recipe, the body butter can be used at any age and even during pregnancy. Coconut oil by default provides a fine, pleasant aroma.

Hello, If instead of caprilis, I put rice oil and exclude the essential oil from the recipe, can it be used by pregnant women and babies? Thank you!

Hello, Ionela. The coconut extract is not soluble in oils, and the reltivly soft texture of this cream does not allow optimal dispersion of the extract. If you do not want to use essential oils, you can use a natural fragrance.

Hello. Coconut oil can be replaced in this recipe with monoi or babassu oil - which have similar texture. If you use olive squalan, the cream will be softer.

Hello Sorina! Coffee butter is similar in consistency to shea butter, so you can substitute some of the shea butter. If you substitute the coconut oil, the final product will be a bit firmer in texture.

Sabina, exact amounts we can't tell you without tests, as a guideline the dosage for the nut butters is 50% in total and the rest of the formula to be made up of fluid ingredients. Basically you can add cocoa powder to the finished product, but depending on the dosage, the cream will leave a colored coating on the skin; add a little bit at a time eventually. Good luck!

I would like to make a body butter from the following ingredients : cocoa butter, shea butter, caprilis oil and of course different essential oils that I will put according to my preference. My question is what are the correct quantities for each ingredient in forming an airy and foamy body butter....100ml finished product. Another question is whether cocoa powder can be added in the finished product, if yes, in what quantity? Thank you!

This was the first recipe I made by myself! I want to tell you that it turned out great and I am very pleased with it. Instead of the kukui oil I put 19.4 gr of avocado oil and 4.6 gr of quinoa oil. Because of the avocado oil it has a different color but it doesn't matter, it leaves my skin moisturized (I use this body butter after bath, on damp skin) and it smells very good. Thanks Elemental for your recipes and quality ingredients!
