Description

Organic Sesame Oil (Sesamum indicum), renowned in Ayurvedic tradition, is a robust oil distinguished by an excellent capacity to penetrate the epidermis, successfully delivering deep nourishment. Its remarkable wealth of unsaponifiable compounds, such as sesamol, sesamolin, and vitamin E, grants it valuable antioxidant properties, making it an ideal ally for preventive anti-age care. It maintains optimal hydration levels and works effectively for the restructuring of dry, dehydrated skin or skin prone to flaking.

Sesame Oil is traditionally used for Ayurvedic massage (Abhyanga), where the mild warming effect felt on the skin is an intrinsic property of the oil, friction during the massage activates compounds that stimulate local peripheral circulation.

Usage & Synergies

Face care

On the face, Sesame oil is recommended for mature, wrinkled, sensitive skin or skin affected by eczema and psoriasis. It can be used pure or as an active ingredient in formulas.

Practical recommendations

  • Cleanser: Apply to the face, massage, and remove with a damp cloth. It effectively dissolves makeup.
  • Face oil for mature skin: Apply 2-3 drops to clean skin in the evening.
  • Ingredient in anti-aging serums or creams: Incorporate into formulas intended for mature or dry skin.

Synergies in face care

As an anti-aging serum with an antioxidant profile, the synergy with Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil and Coenzyme Q10 completes the protection. On skin with eczema or psoriasis, the association with Calendula Oil and Borage Oil supports barrier repair. As a gentle cleanser, combining it with Apricot Oil offers a lightweight texture for makeup removal.

Body care

This is the area of excellence for Sesame oil, Ayurvedic massage, tired joints, and muscle aches. The mild warming effect stimulates local circulation. It is considered one of the best bases for prolonged body massage, offering a comfortable glide without absorbing too quickly into the skin.

Practical recommendations

  • Abhyanga massage oil: Use pure or slightly warmed for traditional Ayurvedic massage.
  • Adjuvant for joint pain: Apply to uncomfortable joints, massaging with firm circular motions. Use as it is or combined with specific oils.
  • Base for massage oils: Used pure or in a blend as a vehicle for essential oils, facilitating body massage and muscle relaxation.
  • Care for damaged skin: Applied locally to very dry, rough, or flaking areas of the body to restore the hydrolipid barrier.

Synergies in body care

As a massage oil for joints, the synergy with Arnica Oil and Wintergreen Essential Oil completes the effect. As a relaxing evening massage oil, the association with Lavender and Sweet Orange Essential Oils creates a balanced experience.

Hair care

Sesame oil is traditionally used for the scalp and hair, contributing to nourishment and a healthier appearance of the strands.

Practical recommendations

  • Ayurvedic scalp massage: Apply to the scalp, massage circularly for a few minutes, and leave on for at least 30 minutes before shampooing.
  • Regenerating hair treatment: Massaged into the scalp and distributed through the lengths before shampooing to lend shine and nutrition to devitalized strands.
  • Ingredient in hair masks: Incorporate into nourishing masks for dry hair.

Synergies in hair care

As a traditional scalp treatment, the synergy with Amla Oil restores the classic Ayurvedic combination for strengthening the hair. To fortify dry and dull hair, use it alongside Argan Oil or Ricin Oil to create an intensely nourishing pre-wash mask.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why does it smell different from culinary sesame oil?
Culinary oil is generally obtained from toasted seeds, which have a strong and characteristic aroma. The cosmetic variant is cold-pressed from raw seeds, preserving a discrete scent and an intact nutritional profile.

Does it replace a sunscreen?
No. It offers modest protection against UV radiation; it is not an approved sun filter under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. It is used as an adjuvant or base, not as a replacement for sun protection.

Is it suitable for individuals with a sesame allergy?
No. Sesame is recognized as a major food allergen, and individuals with a documented sesame allergy must completely avoid this product, including for external cosmetic use.

I use organic sesame oil together with murumuru butter, which is very hard at room temperature, to get a very pleasant cream. I use equal parts of oil and murumuru butter, mix them in bain marie then pour into the tin. When cooled it is a very fine cream that goes easily into the skin and has a pleasant odor.

it is a versatile oil with a faint odor (it exists, can't be ignored but not particularly unpleasant) and can be used in creams with ease, not being a sensitive or fussy oil.

uleiurile vegatale si cele esentiale pe care le commercializati sunt f.bune. eu mi-am made a beach oil last summer with sesame oil, carrot, catina, raspberry and was effective.am fost in grace in July when it was very hot and I used it and pt.copil who had 2 years and I had no burns. but it must be applied quite often.ie after you get in the water, and even if you just stay at the beach should be applied more often.in fact and sunscreens are applied the same way.but it is very good and, most importantly, is a 100% natural product without chemicals.
