Sun Cream, Annatto & Cocoa
Formula: 625126 Difficulty level: beginner Shelf life: min 6 months pH optimal: -

Phase Ingredients Total 100 gr
A Annatto oil macerate 37 gr
B Cocoa butter 30 gr
B Beeswax white 10 gr
B Titanium paste 10 gr
B Zinc oxide 10 gr
C Glycerin 2 gr
C Vitamin E 1 gr

1. Before preparing the cream for at least one day, ideally 5 days, prepare the urucum macerate. In a bottle mix 8 gr of urucum powder with 45 gr of sesame oil, shaking the mixture several times a day. Filter through a reusable filter or through gauze placed in a triple layer.

2. Add the filtered macerate to a heat-resistant glass together with the ingredients of phase B and heat on a water bath. When the wax has melted, remove from the heat

3. Add phase C ingredients and mix thoroughly. Place the glass in a bowl of cold water and stir until it reaches the consistency of cream.

4. Transfer the mixture to the dedicated container. The consistency will set the next day.

A consistent, water-free cream that acts as a physical barrier to protect the skin from the sun's rays. Contains mineral filters and antioxidants. It has a fairly greasy texture, lightly tints the skin and shows good water resistance. It prepares the skin for sun exposure and promotes an even, aesthetic tan. It is suitable for both adults and children.

Hi Teodora, I recommend replacing the cocoa butter with murumuru or kokum butter for a softer balm. Good luck!

Dear Helga, unfortunately you cannot substitute glycerine with any other humectant in this recipe, but it can be omitted. Have a nice day!

Hello! The sun protection index cannot be measured without specific instrumentation that we don't have access to when we prepare this kind of creams at home. Estimated on the basis of the dosage of mineral filters, the cream gives medium to high protection. Keep using it!

Hello! This is the most suitable, it contains no preservatives, is formulated with the two physical filters recognized for broad-spectrum protection, and is quite water resistant.

Hello, which of the sunscreens would be the most suitable for the beach - for children? I would like the highest UVA and UVB protection. Thanks!

The recipe can also be made with titanium dioxide, but the texture of the conditioner may not be as smooth. Given that titanium paste contains about half titanium dioxide and the rest oil plus a little emulsifier, for the replacement we need to calculate 50% titanium dioxide powder and 50% vegetable oil. Good luck!

Of those available, we recommend almond or grape oil.
