Description
Micronized Rice Powder - Exceptionally fine native powder, matting, absorbent, aesthetic modifier
Micronized Rice Powder is a native rice powder, optimized through physical treatment for cosmetic applications. It is a versatile and multifunctional ingredient, valuable both as an aesthetic enhancer and as an absorbent of moisture and sebum, or as a carrier for other active ingredients. Its exceptionally fine texture makes it suitable for a wide range of personal care applications, from creams and lotions to powders and makeup products.
Ingredients (INCI): Oryza Sativa Starch
Technical Characteristics
- Appearance: Fine white powder with a neutral odor.
- Solubility: Does not dissolve strictly in cold water, but forms a fine suspension/dispersion; miscible with oils and other cosmetic powders. As a native starch, it can hydrate/gel in a warm aqueous medium.
- Quality: Native rice starch, manufacturer-certified according to BDIH and COSMOS standards, with low bacterial load achieved via thermal treatment (not gamma sterilization).
- Recommended dosage: 1-100%
Properties and Benefits
- Valuable aesthetic modifier for cosmetic textures, reducing the greasy and heavy feel of plant lipid-based creams.
- Matting effect, reduces stickiness upon application.
- Spreads easily on the skin without a whitening or shiny effect.
- High capacity for absorbing sweat, odor, and excess sebum.
- Imparts a velvety, silky feel to the skin.
- Can replace talc in face and body powders, maintaining or enhancing the sensory perception of the final formula.
Applications
- Creams, lotions, facial serums, aftershave creams, anhydrous creams, balms.
- Sunscreens, after-sun emulsions.
- Foundations, loose and pressed powders, blushes, eyeshadows, setting powders, scented body powders.
- Deodorant powders, roll-ons, and deo-sticks.
- Bath bombs, dry shampoo.
- Can be applied directly to the face as a makeup setting powder.
Formulation Guide
- Recommended dosage: 1-15% in emulsions, creams, and balms; up to 80% in powders and dry blends; up to 100% as a setting powder used as is.
- Can be added before or after emulsification, depending on the desired effect.
- Added to the aqueous phase before emulsification: contributes to thickening and stabilizing the formula.
- Added during the final phase of emulsions at temperatures below 40°C: provides a velvety texture and matting effect.
- In powder blends: incorporate as is, thoroughly mixed with the other powders in the formulation.
- For tinted setting powders: blends well with minerals such as sericite and pigments; if skin adhesion is insufficient, it can be supplemented with magnesium stearate.
Usage Safety and Storage
- Profile: Safe ingredient with good skin tolerance.
- Precautions: External cosmetic use.
- Storage: Store in a closed container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

I used it for the first time recently in face cream. I like that it reduces oiliness and leaves a velvety finish
I use it in body and face cream. For body cream, used in the final phase after homogenization, it's very good, leaves the skin very smooth. For the face cream I found it a bit astringent until the cream gets into the skin.
I used it as is, especially in the summer. It's an incredibly fine powder. Transparent. Doesn't weigh down the complexion, doesn't clog pores. It's mattifying, silky. Very satisfied.
I like the texture,it is very smooth. I use it often in body butters, leaves a smooth, velvety skin. Very useful for the complexion too!
I use the powder in combination with the aloe vera gel when I want to make a mask. I keep the mask on for about 15-20 min or until it dries. Rinse with lukewarm water. The sensation immediately after is a kind of warm feeling but that goes away in no more than 30-45 seconds. The complexion stays fresh, the aloe vera gel has the property to heal small irritations of the complexion, the rice powder mattifies.
This rice powder has completely replaced the commercial powders I used to use. I think Ellemental is starting a pro natural revolution :))) But seriously, I've been using it for a few years now for finishing and mattifying my makeup and I'm very happy with it. And now I want to try it also in a recipe with some pigments, to replace the bb I have now.
I have used it for deodorant (leaves no white film) and as a base in a loose powder. I really like the effect it has on the skin: it leaves it smooth and silky, it doesn't weigh down the complexion unnecessarily. I want to experiment the velvety effect in a day cream too, I need to study a bit more to find the right amount :)
I like it very much. I use it as a setting powder for oily skin and it really amazes me.
I use this powder as a setting powder. I have oily skin. It absorbs the oil and seems to disappear from enlarged pores. I like it a lot.
Fine powder for different types of cosmetics,at first I used it only for deodorants ,but now I use it for many other things.I especially like it for oily skin.
So far I have used it in deodorant recipes but I will try other recipes where I add this powder
I used it as an ingredient in antiperspirant. I was satisfied because of the Properties found in the description.
I used rice powder along with sericite to get a glowing powder for the complexion. As pigments, I added cocoa powder, turmeric and basil. It came out a nice powder, but it washes off the skin easily; I'll try to improve the adherence by adding magnesium stearate.
Matifying ,absorbs excess sebum very suitable for oily skin ,creams or mask .I will try it on other products.
Put in creams, the complexion (dry to very dry here) looks so beautiful and radiant! And on top of that, it feels so good to see the complexion so healthy! I simply adore it! I recommend it for any skin type!
Particularly useful for skin health and beauty. I highly recommend it to all those who have skin problems, as well as to those who simply care to have a more youthful look :).
I used micronized rice powder instead of the white powder I had. Under eyes it dries more than the commercial one but on nose and forehead it was ok.
it is such a fine powder and makes the creams so pleasant to the touch that I want to use it in all the creams I make.
