For oily skin, it is a powder that works to mattify and smooth the complexion. It contains mineral and vegetable ingredients that work synergistically to improve the appearance of the skin. It imparts a light neutral beige tint and has low coverage. Apply to skin with a powder puff or large makeup brush, after day cream or cream foundation

Options and explanations:

  • if an unscented powder is desired, the essential oil can be removed from the recipe
  • the powder has only a slight covering power and tones the skin finely with a neutral tone, not suitable as a powder foundation
  • by removing the black pigment a warmer shade can be achieved; by increasing the amount of brown pigment a cooler shade can be achieved
  • the colour given by the amount of pigments in the recipe is suitable for fair skin; for darker skin the amount of pigments can be proportionally increased

...

  • Difficulty: beginner/advanced/experienced
  • Tools: precision scale, pestle and mortar, stainless steel spoon set
  • Recommended container: powder pot
  • Shelf life6 months, prepared in hygienic conditions, stored in a cool dry place

I made this powder and it is simply wow! I omitted the bamboo powder because I didn't have it and instead I increased the dosage of orea powder, it came out really good anyway!

The percentage of zinc oxide may be increased, but the pigment should also be increased in order not to appear a whitish layer on the skin.

Is it okay to increase the percentage of zinc oxide to give a higher sunscreen protection? 10-15%?

Hello. It is possible to use arrowroot powder or silica, but we do not have these ingredients in our product palette. The recipe can possibly be made without bamboo powder by supplementing the rice powder.

Hello, what can you use instead of makeup base? I'd like to make a mattifying powder for an oily complexion and I don't have a makeup base. Thanks

Diana, you can take out the pigments but we also suggest removing the zinc oxide and bamboo powder as they have hiding power and leave a white layer on the skin.

Matifies considerably and does not weigh down the complexion. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you,

Hello, Laura. To obtain a light color, remove the black pigment and use half the amount indicated for the brown and yellow pigments. You can add them progressively, homogenizing the composition well and testing the color on the skin. We don't have Silica microspeheres on offer at the moment, but bamboo powder contains a high percentage of vegetable silica.

Hi Laura. You can use tea tree essential oil instead of lavender essential oil.
