Description

Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini) brings a solid antibacterial and antifungal profile combined with an intense floral aroma featuring geranium nuances. It is a valuable ingredient in natural perfumery and an affordable substitute for more expensive floral essences. It works equally well in formulas for acne-prone skin, in natural deodorants, in hair treatments, and in balancing aromatherapy blends.

Few oils simultaneously cover so many contexts of use with the same olfactory naturalism. It is also highly interesting in perfumery: its floral profile brings it close to Geranium and Rose, at a significantly lower cost. Perfumers use it to extend or complement these reference floral essences, achieving complex accords.

air Olfactory profile: Intensely floral, sweet, slightly lemony and herbaceous, with clear nuances of geranium, persistent.

Ingredients: Organic Palmarosa Essential Oil (Cymbopogon Martini Oil)
*100% of the total ingredients come from organic farming
COSMOS ORGANIC certified by Ecocert Greenlife in accordance with the COSMOS standard
100% pure and natural, undiluted, botanically and biochemically defined
Obtained by steam distillation from the aerial parts of the plant

encrypted_add_circle Cosmetic Properties and Benefits

  • Purifying and antibacterial: Used for the care of skin prone to imperfections and for the natural hygiene of areas with an infectious tendency. Geraniol grants a broad spectrum of purifying activity, with an olfactory profile that is much more pleasant than Tea Tree or Oregano.
  • Antifungal: Traditionally used for the care of skin and scalp with a fungal tendency, an ideal ingredient in formulas for dandruff, seborrheic scalp, nails, and feet.
  • Sebum-regulating and astringent: Contributes to a balanced appearance of oily or combination skin with dilated pores and acne tendencies.
  • Skin tonic: Contributes to a firm and toned skin appearance, with a mild astringent effect.
  • Natural deodorant: Its antibacterial properties and persistent floral aroma recommend it as a first-choice ingredient in natural deodorants.

air_freshener Aromatherapeutic Properties

  • Balancing and comforting: Its warm floral aroma contributes to a state of emotional comfort and stability. Traditionally used during periods of fatigue, nervous imbalance, and emotional exhaustion.
  • Nervous tonic: Contributes to a state of clarity and balance, without the sedative effect of Lavender or the energizing effect of citruses. A balancing, harmonizing middle note oil.
  • Natural floral atmosphere: Diffused on its own or in blends, it creates a clean and delicate floral environment, less dominant than Geranium, more accessible, and more airy.

home_and_garden Foot Care

fragrance DIY Perfumery

  • Floral heart note: Palmarosa is one of the most valuable floral notes in affordable natural perfumery. Perfumers frequently use it to extend or partially substitute rare essences. It integrates into florals with Rose Absolute or Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil, into citruses with Bergamot, and anchors well with Organic Cedarwood Atlas as a base note.

Questions and Answers (FAQ)

Q: Can Palmarosa replace Geranium Bourbon in DIY recipes?
A: Partially, and it depends on the purpose. Both are rich in geraniol and share a similar cosmetic profile: sebum-regulating, purifying, and toning. Olfactorily, Palmarosa is sweeter, more herbaceous, and less complex than Geranium Bourbon. In cosmetic formulas where geraniol is the primary active (deodorants, purifiers, sebum-regulators), Palmarosa can substitute. In perfumery, it serves as a complement or an extension, not a faithful replacement.

Q: Why is Palmarosa a better choice than Tea Tree in deodorants?
A: Tea Tree is effectively antibacterial, but its medicinal-camphorous aroma can be dominant and does not integrate well into all formulas. Palmarosa brings comparable antibacterial properties with a delicate floral aroma that fragrances the product instead of leaving an antiseptic smell. Combined with Cypress (antisudorific) and Petitgrain (balancing), it creates a natural deodorant with a refined olfactory profile.

I have noticed over the years that essential oils from green plants have a specific, somewhat pungent, green plant smell. I like this one because it's got that floral aroma as well. I wouldn't have known it if I hadn't gotten it for my dandruff lotion.

I really like the palmarosa oil. I have acne-prone skin and I use this lovely oil long term for treating post acne scars. I have seen results shortly after starting the treatment, the scars becoming less deep. I add a few drops to foot sprays as it has a lovely scent. I also add it to therapeutic euphtherapeutics for poor peripheral circulation. Added in shampoo powder I had visible results in combating dandruff.

I use palmarosa oil in cream for dry skin, initially I made a cream for feet (for heels, for circulation), but I use the cream for hands as well. Neutralizes sweat odor, diminishes irritation and regenerates. Also excellent as a fragrance in creams
