1. 24 hours before preparing the recipe prepare the mimosa macerate. In a bottle with a cap add 6 g mimosa powder, 42 g pure water and 12 g glycerine. Shake well and leave to macerate for 24 hours, shaking occasionally. Filter the mixture with a filter or filter paper.

2. Heat the ingredients of phases A and B separately to 75°C in a heat-resistant beaker on a water bath. When both phases have reached the right temperature, remove from heat.

3. Add the contents of phase A to phase B with mixing, continue mixing until smooth. Add phase C and homogenize.

4. Place the beaker in a bowl of cold water and blend until a smooth, glossy, homogeneous emulsion forms.

5. When the mixture has cooled to below 40°C, add the ingredients of phase D and mix thoroughly until smooth.

6. Transfer the mixture to the dedicated container. The consistency will be final the next day.

The result is a light emulsion formulated with ingredients that work to soothe, moisturise and regenerate the skin after sun exposure. It is suitable for adults and children over 3 years old.

Hello, Theoretically you can make the substitution, although the two powders have different properties. Mimosa powder stimulates tissue repair and helps regeneration and is used in preparations for damaged skin - which is why it is the main ingredient in this recipe. Manjishta powder helps to maintain healthy skin with improved tone and clear complexion but has no tissue repair properties. Have a wonderful summer!

Hello. Can mimosa macerate be replaced by manjishta macerate?

In this recipe the macerate is not too concentrated, using only 5 g mimosas powder, so less than 10%. This recommendation refers to the powder concentration of the macerate.

Hello, thank you for your answer. I have another question regarding the percentage of mimosas macerate used in the after-sun regenerating cream recipe. From the recommended dosage indications for mimosas macerate was mentioned a range of 5-10%, but I noticed that you used a percentage of 82%, is this percentage ok, is not too concentrated macerate? Thanks

In principle you can also use fraggard, but we recommend a shelf life of 4-6 weeks in this case.

Monica, it doesn't hurt , but on the skin you will see and feel those fibers. Try possibly in a small test amount.

Hello , I knew that fiber remains in the composition , but does it harm in any way ? What happens to a cream , serum or whatever else I do , if I don't macerate and put the powder directly ?

Hello. Mimosa powder dissolves only partially, the fibers remain in the composition.

Dear Betti, unfortunately you cannot substitute mimosa powder with annato powder, it is better to make an oily macerate from annato. We are glad that the sunscreen worked! Have a nice day!

Dear Elementalists, My question is: can mimosa powder be replaced by annato powder? After the cocoa-annato sunscreen, I have just 5gr of annato powder left. Anyway, the sunscreen turned out brilliant, I used it on myself and my kids for 2 weeks!

Hello, We do not recommend excluding xanthan gum from the formula, it contributes to the stability of the emulsion.
