Melt & Pour Soap base Natural Clear, 1 kg
Description
Natural Clear Melt & Pour Soap Base – Melt & Pour Soap Mass
Natural Clear Melt & Pour soap base is a pre-made soap mass of vegetable origin, used for the quick preparation of customized solid soaps using the melt and pour method. It is formulated without sulfate-type surfactants. Thanks to its high content of glycerin and natural humectants, this base ensures skin cleansing without causing pronounced dehydration. Its structure features stable optical clarity, allowing for the creation of aesthetic soaps with different colored layers, botanical inclusions, or suspended mineral powders.
With this soap base, one can make face and body soaps, exfoliating soaps, decorative gift soaps, and soaps prepared together with children as a fun and creative activity.
Ingredients: Glycerin, Aqua, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Palmitate, Coco Glucoside, Sodium Laurate, Sucrose, Butylene glycol (vegetable origin), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride.
Technical Characteristics
- Appearance: Translucent solid, slightly yellowish, characteristic neutral odor.
- Melting point: 50 - 60°C
- pH (1% aqueous solution): 9.5 - 10.5 (alkaline value specific to classic soaps obtained through saponification processes).
- Cosmetic function: Base for artisanal soaps, solid cleansing agent. Quite good foaming power.
- Additives: Allows the incorporation of various solid and liquid ingredients, fragrances, essential oils, clays, granules or dried plants, pigments, and colorants.
Applications
- Transparent or semi-transparent artisanal soaps for hand, face, and body hygiene.
- Decorative soaps with themed inserts, contrasting colored layers, or successively poured geometric shapes.
- Decorative soaps for gifts, favors.
- Exfoliating soaps (by adding ground kernels, vegetable granules, small seeds, powders, or clays).
- Educational and family projects due to minimal handling risks compared to using caustic soda for regular soaps.
Formulation Guide
It is easy to process and pour, and it solidifies quickly after pouring. It can be melted multiple times if needed — by replenishing the evaporated water.
- Melting Procedure: Cut the required amount of base into 1-2 cm cubes. Add 1-5% water to compensate for water loss. Melting is carried out in a water bath (bain-marie) or in a microwave oven. Do not exceed a temperature of 70°C and do not allow it to boil.
- Introducing Additives: Fragrances, essential oils, pigments and colorants, plant powders, granules, and other ingredients are added immediately after the base has completely liquefied, mixing slowly with a spatula to avoid incorporating air bubbles. Pouring into molds is performed while it is still fluid.
- Finishing: To eliminate air bubbles trapped on the surface of the poured soap, immediately spray a fine layer of cosmetic alcohol (or isopropyl alcohol, ethanol). Allow to cool to room temperature. Remove the soap from the mold once it has hardened and wrap it in plastic film to avoid contact with moisture.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why does a film of water droplets (sweating) appear on the surface of the soap a few days after preparation?
This phenomenon is specific to this type of soap, being a direct consequence of the high glycerin content. Glycerin is a strongly hygroscopic substance, which means it actively attracts water vapor from the surrounding atmosphere. If the ambient humidity is high, the glycerin in the soap will capture water from the air and condense it on the solid surface in the form of micro-droplets. To prevent this inconvenience, soaps must be tightly wrapped in airtight plastic film immediately after removal from the mold and complete cooling.
Why has the layered soap separated or why are the layers detaching from each other?
Separation of the layers occurs if the first poured layer has cooled completely and formed a rigid surface film before the second layer is poured. To ensure adhesion, the second layer must be poured while the first is still slightly warm and elastic to the touch.
Safety in Use and Storage
Safety profile: Stable product under normal storage conditions, presenting optimal skin tolerance in rinse-off washing applications.
Precautions: For external cosmetic use only. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water.
Storage: Store in a tightly closed container or wrapped in film, in a cool and dry place.
