Exfoliating soap with urucum and citrus fruits
Formula: 815124 Difficulty level: beginner Shelf life: min 12 months

Phase Ingredients Total 130 gr
A M&P soap base Clear 120,6 gr
B Annatto powder 0,4 gr
B Olive exfoliator 4,5 gr
B Sweet Orange essential oil 2,5 gr
B Grapefruit essential oil 2 gr

1. Dice the soap base and melt it in a water bath with the rest of the ingredients from phase A, mix well.

2. Add the ingredients of phase B and mix.

3. Pour the mixture into the prepared mould and leave to harden on a flat surface. After approx. 4 hours remove the soap from the mould and leave to dry until the next day. The prepared soap can then be used.

If the environment in which the soap is stored has higher humidity, dew and a gelatinous layer may appear on the surface of the soap. This is normal for natural melt & pour soaps. To avoid this phenomenon, it is advisable to wrap the soap in food wrap or store it in a sealable container.

Hello! Soaps do not benefit pigmentation spots, you need a cream or serum with specific active ingredients such as vitamin C, kojic acid, arbutin.

Hello! In melt&pour soaps you can add tensides, we generally recommend 5-10% powdered coconut tenside. In cold process soaps the lather depends on the oils used, for example castor or babassu are good choices.

Hello Laura, If the essential oil has low viscosity, that is, it is very fluid like citrus, then 1 gr means approx. 33 drops and if it is more viscous, then 25-30 drops.

CORNELIA, Hello, In our experience it is not possible to acidify a cold process soap with lactic acid.

Hello, I would need some advice, do you think I could add lactic acid to a soap (cold process) to lower the ph? If so how % should I add?

Elena E, Ivy is a good idea, both macerated and crushed. Maceration can be done in sesame, almond or olive oil for example. Indeed 3% oil can safely be added to soap. Well cleaned and finely chopped ivy leaves are also possible to incorporate into melt&pour soaps.

Hi Elemental! We have been waiting for soap recipes for a long time! Isn't it edible? :D kidding.... I think due to the grapefruit content it is also mildly anti-cellulite. Would I be able to strain the ivy (I have in my yard) in one form or another into the soap? I'm thinking of crushing a few leaves or macerating in oil but I can't put more than 2-3% in soap if I understand correctly. Anyway, the recipes are simple to make even for beginners and interesting.
