Sage & Guaiac Soap
Formula: 749 Difficulty level: beginner Shelf life: min 12 months

Phase Ingredients Total 70 gr
A M&P soap base Clear 67 gr
A Cosmetic pigment oxide 15 Blue 0,03 gr
A Guaiacwood essential oil 2 gr
B Ravensara aromatica essential oil 25 drops
B Sage essential oil 7 drops

1. Dice the soap base and melt it in a water bath with the rest of the ingredients from phase A, mix well.

2. Add the ingredients of phase B and mix.

3. Pour the mixture into the prepared mould and leave to harden on a flat surface. After approx. 4 hours remove the soap from the mould and leave to dry until the next day. The prepared soap can then be used.

If the environment in which the soap is stored has higher humidity, dew and a gelatinous layer may appear on the surface of the soap. This is normal for natural melt & pour soaps. To avoid this phenomenon, it is advisable to wrap the soap in food wrap or store it in a sealable container.

Hello! In this recipe you can use various essential oils as a substitute, according to your preference. Guaiac oil will be available in the coming days.

As guaiac essential oil has not been available for some time, what could I replace it with and in what quantity? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Hello! Soap isn't always a good choice for cleansing the complexion, perhaps a cleanser would be better, especially due to the skin's optimal pH. If you still want to use soap, Aleppo soap would be suitable for acne-prone skin.

Hello! We do not have such a classification of essential oils. In our experience, those that are citrus and have mostly very volatile top notes are not persistent.

Hello. Please tell me which are the essential oils that retain the most flavor in cold soaps prepared at home. I saw the information somewhere but, because I didn't write it down I can't find it now. Thank you.

Hello, I received your order and thank you for the gift. Question: why don't I see in your videos that you use stearic acid or sodium lactate, are they not important?

Hi Laura. If the pigment is added when the soap base is well melted and liquid, by sprinkling, then it can disperse quite well, possibly helped with the back of the spoon by pressing it against the wall of the bowl. Another method can also be used, and that is to first dissolve the pigment in a little glycerine or a small cant of soap base. It is not necessary to use a mortar. Pearlescent pigments are more aerated, and so can be incorporated more quickly in such applications, but a slightly larger amount is needed.

Hi, I have made this recipe a couple of times. Each time the matte 15 blue mineral pigment remains undissolved although I hold enough on the water bath. The last time I made it, I ground the pigment and the result is the same (plus it gets lost a lot in the mortar and can barely be removed from the mortar). Do you have any suggestions for another colorant from your offer? Do the pearly ones perform better? Thanks!

Hello, Simona. We don't have a recipe for soap with sulfur, but you can make it from soap base if you can buy sulfur. Here you can find the soap base with the instructions.

Hello. I post the comment here because I don't know where else. I'd like to make a sulfur soap for a mycosis/fungus (I call it that because I don't know exactly what it is, because it comes and goes) and I'd like to ask if you have any recipes for it. I used sulfur soap a few years ago, after which it disappeared, but now it has reappeared. If not, could you recommend a recipe that contains antibacterial and antifungal ingredients? Thank you very much for a possible answer!
