Surgras Soap
Formula: 5135 Difficulty level: beginner Shelf life: min 12 months

Phase Ingredients Total 90 gr
A M&P soap base Clear 62 gr
A Shea butter, purified 8 gr
A Coco-betain Surfactant 10 gr
A Distilled water 7 gr
B Berry Sorbet fragrance oil 3 gr

1. Dice the soap base and melt it in a water bath with the rest of the ingredients in phase A, mix well.

2. Add the ingredients of phase B and mix.

3. Pour the mixture into the prepared mould and leave to harden on a flat surface. After approx. 4 hours remove the soap from the mould and leave to dry until the next day. The prepared soap can then be used.

If the environment in which the soap is stored has higher humidity, dew and a gelatinous layer may appear on the surface of the soap. This is normal for natural melt & pour soaps.
To avoid this phenomenon, it is advisable to wrap the soap in food wrap or store it in a sealable container.

Hello Rodica, Poured into the round soap mold, based on the amounts in the recipe, you get a single bar of soap.

Hello Oana, To dissolve coconut tenside we recommend you follow the recipe instructions. Heat all the ingredients in phase A. Try to avoid stirring until the soap cubes are completely melted. After melting stir the mixture and wait until the coconut surfactant is melted, fully incorporating. If it does not dissolve completely, it will dissolve while using the soap. In place of Bourbon Geranium oil, you can use any other essential or fragrance oil of your preference. Good luck!

Hello, what solution do you have to dissolve coconut tenside? The amount of water is too small to dissolve all the tenside. I tried to put it in the melted soap to dissolve it but it doesn't dissolve completely and it also makes a little foam that stays on the soap. Thanks! And one more question what can we replace geranium oil with? Is neem oil ok?

Hello! The soap base already contains a fairly high amount of glycerin, you can possibly add another 4-5 gr without any other changes.

Hi! I would like to adapt the recipe a bit - could I use instead of the apricot aromatic extract natural rose fragrance?

Hello! The proposed changes are fine, be careful with the dosage of the colorant, in no case do not put 2 gr (watch the video for the use of colorants in soaps). To increase the lathering, you can possibly reduce the dosage of the soap base by 4-5 gr and supplement the dosage of the coconut tenside even more. Good luck!

Hello, I want to adapt the recipe and I want to make a soap with higher foaming power containing coconut tenside.I would like to use matte white soap base, reduce the amount of shea butter to 4%, eliminate vitamin E and add soap coloring. Possibly replace in the recipe 2 gr of apricot extract with the coloring. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

We're glad you like the soap made from this recipe. The formula does not accept more water than is provided, and 8 grams of powdered tenside will not dissolve in 5 grams of water, but you can premix phase B before adding to phase A. Have a nice day!

I made the recipe and it's a wonderful soap. In preparation, I had some difficulty melting the powdered coconut tenside. Would it be better to brew the powdered coconut tenside separately with water and then add them on the stove? Thanks.

Hello! The higher butter dosage is chosen to make a superfatted soap, i.e. one that contains more unsaponified fat, and the addition of surfactant is recommended in such formulas to increase the washing power. The dosage of vitamin E is up to 0.5%.

Hi. I have calculated the percentage of shea butter added in this recipe and it is 8.88%. In the soap base it is specified that you can add 1-4% butters. Is 8.88% shea butter the percentage that calls for the addition of tenside? Can you please tell me how do I calculate how much vitamin E I can add in the white milk soap base? Thank you!

Hello! By removing the apricot extract, increase the water dosage accordingly. Crystal soap base can be substituted for the transparent M&P soap base, please note that the preparation differs slightly - see the instructions in the product sheet on the website.

I would like to remove the apricot extract from the recipe. What ingredient should I add in a higher proportion then? Also, I understood that the transparent m&p base can be substituted for the crystal base in the proposed recipes.

Hello! We recommend you to use the suggested soap base for this recipe, new batch will be available early next week. The coconut tenside must be added, otherwise the soap will lather very little.
