A: They are two completely different products, even though they come from the same plant. Laurel carrier oil is extracted from the fruits of the shrub, it is rich in nourishing fatty acids and contains a small fraction of natural volatile oils. It is the classic ingredient in Aleppo soap. The essential oil is distilled from the leaves and is extremely concentrated. They have different chemical profiles, different textures, and different uses.
