1. Heat the ingredients of phases A and B separately up to 75°C in a heat-resistant beaker on a water bath. When both phases have reached the right temperature, remove from heat.

2. Add the contents of phase B to phase A with mixing, continue mixing until smooth.

3. Place the beaker in a bowl of cold water and blend until a smooth, glossy, homogeneous emulsion forms.

4. When the mixture has cooled to below 40°C, or hand temperature, add the Phase C ingredients and mix thoroughly until smooth.

5. Measure pH and adjust if necessary.

6. Transfer the composition to the dedicated container. The consistency will be final on the next day.

Very light, non-greasy, non-greasy fluid emulsion texture that can be spread very well on the skin to ensure an even tan. With a medium self-tanning content, skin colour will gradually change and will hold beautifully on regular application. It is suitable for both face and body

Hello Crinela, We are delighted that you like the self-tanning cream and we hope that you will be inspired by our other cosmetic recipes. You can replace the self-tanner with cosmetic actives beneficial to your skin such as: betaine, panthenol, silk protein or slim-active and algae slim complex to restore vitality and improve the appearance of the skin.

Good evening! The prepared product has a very pleasant texture and the bronzing effect is very natural just right . But I have a question: if I remove the self tanner to get a body cream, what could I replace it with? Thanks and all esteem for what you do!

Hello Gabriella, The very fluid texture helps to apply evenly on the skin, but if you want a slightly more solid consistency, you can add 0.1-0.2% xanthan gum in the water phase. Good luck!

Hello! The texture comes out very very fluid. Can some xanthan gum be added to this formula?

Hello Gabriella, Mixing with the mixer should not exceed 1 minute to avoid aerating the cream. Then continue mixing by hand until it cools completely below 40°C, at which point you can add the ingredients for phase C. Both the temperature of phases A and B when emulsifying, and the temperature of the emulsion before adding the ingredients for phase C are decisive. Good luck!

Hello! The composition came out very pleasant, but mixed with a blender it aerated very much (I only made 150ml). I am thinking to mix it by hand next time. What I find strange though is that a few hours after I made the mix, the liquid part separated from the oily part and I don't think that should have happened. If I shake the mixture, it mixes very well and it takes again the initial fluid cream texture. Is it normal for the two parts to separate? When I mixed the two phases, the oily one was 75 degrees, but the watery one was only 70. Could this be the problem?

Hello Cornelia, Thanks for your appreciation! Loss of the oily phase in oil-in-water emulsions is inevitable. The larger the quantity prepared, the less the loss. For small quantities prepared, try reverse pouring, i.e. adding the aqueous phase to the oily phase.

Hello! I just finished making this self-tanning milk and would like to point out that when pouring the B phase into the A, there was a lot of the oily phase left on the walls of the glass. I tried to collect as much as I could from the glass during the mixing, but I think I lost a few grams of the A phase. This happens frequently in oil-in-water emulsions and I don't know how to save all the oily part. Is it possible for the emulsion to destabilize given that loss of oily phase? I mean all emulsions in general, not just this self tanning milk? For the rest, I am addicted to these wonderful recipes and all that I have learned here ?All the best!
