Although there are plenty of such products on the market containing essential oils and various other potentially irritating or allergenic substances, for children under 3, we are reluctant to recommend solutions containing essential oils, especially in the case of an anti-insect lotion, which must be effective and therefore contain sufficiently high doses. The recipe can also be used on clothes or other surfaces.

Hi, for my daughter (9 years old) I have modified the recipe as follows: replaced cosgard with grapefruit seed oil replaced thyme oil with lavender replaced glycerin with nalba extract. The lotion seems ok in appearance and texture, I just want to make sure that I haven't ruined anything in its effectiveness by the substitutions.
