1. Heat the ingredients of phase A in a heatproof glass on a water bath. Mix slowly and thoroughly in the meantime. When a smooth paste has formed, remove from heat. Set aside to cool to below 40°C.

2. Mix the ingredients of phase B and add the mixture to phase A, homogenise slowly.

3. Add phase C ingredients and slowly homogenise, avoiding over-foaming.

4. Measure the pH value and adjust with lactic acid to 5.0-5.5

5. Add phase E ingredients one at a time, homogenize slowly, thoroughly. Transfer to the dedicated bottle

The result is a consistent, good foaming shampoo with a pleasant fresh scent. It is suitable for normal or slightly dry hair or oily scalp with dry strands.

Hi Raluca, If you want a more liquid consistency, remove the salt from the recipe. We do not recommend adjusting the SCS as it would affect the cleansing power of the shampoo.

Hello. I also tried the option of replacing SCI, but the viscosity is even higher than with SCS, so I will go back to SCS. I would, however, like to decrease the SCS to make it even more liquid. Can you please help me with roughly what percentage to decrease? And if I need to adjust the other ingredients, should I subtract or add? Thank you very much!

Hello Raluca! In principle you can do the replacement, which will also reduce the viscosity of the shampoo. You will probably have to adapt the dosage to the lactic acid. Possibly prepare a lower test dose.

Hello. Can you replace SCS with SCI? When I make a larger quantity, 1 kg, although I have removed the salt, the composition tends to harden and thus not flow out of the bottle. I use a normal bottle, without a measuring spoon. Or how could I make the composition more liquid, so that it flows more easily? Thank you very much!

Hello, In this recipe, the presence of castor oil in this recipe does not allow the Lauryl tenside to be replaced by other tensides. In case of castor oil removal Lauryl tenside can be replaced with other tensides.

Hello, If I want the composition a little more liquid, do I decrease the amount of salt or something else? If so, by what percentage? Thanks!

Hello Valeria, Since the pH of the prepared shampoo is highly dependent on the pH of the water used, it is not possible to give an exact amount of lactic acid. Measure the pH value again and adjust the pH to the desired level by gradually adding and constantly checking the pH value.

Hi Klara, You can add unrefined apple cider vinegar in place of the lactic acid, adding gradually until the optimum pH is reached. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your answer! I have tested quite a few of the shampoos in your recipe and they didn't suit me, this being the only one convenient for me. Can you recommend another shampoo for dry hair? Or perhaps modifications to the existing shampoos in the recipe?

Hello Cornelia, This shampoo with good washing and scalp-cleansing power can dry out hair with weak and thin strands. We recommend you use a suitable conditioner after washing, for example: damaged hair treatment conditioner pataua & protein or nourishing hair conditioner, anti-wrinkle monoi & keratin or a conditioner according to your preference.

Hello! I've made this shampoo several times and I like it very much, but my card hair is dry and thin and it gets very salty after washing. Instead of silk protein I chose to use honeyquat. What adjustments could I make to leave the hair smooth in the end? Thanks in advance for your answer!

Hello Linda, Lemon, lemongrass or grapefruit essential oil can be used in place of lime essential oil. If you don't have it available, remove the ingredient from the recipe. Good luck!

Hello. I'm back! I made this shampoo, with castor oil (without making replacement). The product is a real sensation! So, I want to say, again, many sincere thanks! You really are a wonderful team! :) P.S. super from the bottom of my heart to solve the problem of emulsifier Vari-Btms.
