Coco-Glucoside (Coco-Glucoside)
Coco-Glucoside is a mild, non-ionic surfactant typically produced from renewable plant feedstocks (fatty alcohols from coconut and glucose-derived sugars) and widely used in cosmetic formulations for gentle cleansing and foam boosting. It helps lift oils and impurities while supporting a softer, less-stripping after-feel, making it a common choice for sensitive-skin and “sulfate-free” concepts. As part of a surfactant blend, it can improve lather quality, contribute to viscosity building, and enhance the creamy texture of rinse-off systems when properly balanced with amphoteric or anionic co-surfactants. Coco-Glucoside is frequently found in facial and body cleansers, shampoos, shower gels, hand washes, baby products, and micellar-style formats, and may also support emulsification and solubilization of small oil loads in certain water-based systems. Use level and performance are formulation-dependent and typically optimized with pH, electrolyte content, and the overall surfactant package to achieve the desired clarity, foam profile, and mildness.
