Coco-Glucoside (Coco-Glucoside)
Coco-Glucoside is a mild, non-ionic surfactant typically produced from renewable plant feedstocks (fatty alcohols from coconut and glucose-derived sugars) and widely used in cosmetic formulations for gentle cleansing and foam boosting. It helps lift oils and impurities while supporting a softer after-feel, and is often selected to reduce the harshness of primary surfactants in sensitive-skin and “sulfate-free” concepts. As a co-surfactant, it can improve lather quality, enhance viscosity build, and contribute to a smooth, creamy texture in rinse-off products. Coco-Glucoside is commonly found in facial and body cleansers, shampoos, shower gels, hand washes, baby products, and micellar-style formats, and can also support emulsification in certain systems. Use level and performance are formulation-dependent and typically optimized with the overall surfactant package, pH strategy, and electrolyte/thickener choices to achieve the desired clarity, foam profile, and mildness.
