Hello Nicoleta, Prepared butter has a minimum shelf life of 6 months. Obviously, keeping it in the refrigerator extends the shelf life, but due to solidification it makes it difficult to use it regularly. We recommend storing the body butter in optimal, normal conditions, without direct exposure to the sun.

Hello, can you please tell me how to keep butter? If I keep it in the refrigerator, of course it will solidify to a certain extent, but if I keep it on the bedside table, it will melt mostly? How is the shelf life of butter affected depending on where it is kept? (outside or in the refrigerator?)

Hello Carmen. Basically, you can use various vegetable oils instead of the two mentioned; naturally, their texture and color influence the product obtained. Coconut oil is suitable, add the same quantity.

Hello Naty. You can also use another vegetable oil, according to your preference, or increase the amount of carrot oil accordingly.

Hello, The chosen ingredients are suitable to make a body butter. For the preparation you follow the instructions in this recipe and only heat the butters + avocado oil (phase A), the rest of the ingredients are considered as phase B. As we don't know the exact composition of vitamin E in the phials, we can't tell you how much to use; if it's pure tocopherol then 1 ml is enough.

Thanks for your answer. If I add 20% aloe vera gel in phase B to solubilize the urea, collagen and hyaluronic acid, not wanting to give them up :) , and Protecta 8% emulsifier, decreasing the amount of butters included, is it ok?

Hello, You can make a body butter with most of the suggested ingredients. We have a few suggestions: - the total percentage of butters should not exceed 50-55%, otherwise the composition will be too compact, although even then it would easily melt on contact with the skin - glycerin is OK at this percentage but the rest of the water-soluble actives cannot be included in an anhydrous composition: hyaluronic acid, urea, collagen - so these should be eliminated - no need to use an emulsifier or co-emulsifier here. To make an emulsion that also contains water + water-soluble actives, the formula would be completely different

Since collagen is water soluble, can it be introduced in phase B, together with glycerin? Or can it remain in phase C?

Cornelia, Hello, Essesol is an ingredient that can be included in those formulas that also contain water, and the recipe you prepared is an anhydrous one, therefore you cannot add essesol to this formula.

Hello, I made this recipe and I would like to add a sun protection factor to it, that is to say to put essesol. Can you add more?

claudiar, Hi, Yes, you can make the suggested substitutions, the proportions remain the same. The body butter will be a bit more oily since you are replacing the carrot oil with olive oil.

Good evening. I understood that instead of the vegetable oils in the recipe you can use others, and in this regard I checked the lists of oils in the elemental offer. However, if you have time, perhaps you could tell me if I can use instead of carrot oil and rosehip oil / olive oil and almond oil and if the proportions should be the same. Thank you very much.

Nicoleta, Hi, The cream should still be softer than the cocoa butter itself since half of the ingredients are fluid, but its consistency changes depending on the environment in which it is stored. The recipe and hence the photo was taken in the summer, in June. If you have the possibility, you can add oil afterwards, the homogenization is a little more difficult without heating, but it can be achieved with a little patience. Have a nice day!

Hello I made this recipe and I can't tell if the consistency is as it should be. The result is not creamy as I would have expected, but it is very stiff, in fact as stiff as the cocoa butter was before I melted it. Basically the cream is so stiff that I can't pick it up with my fingers, but have to scoop with a spatula :-). What is the consistency it should have? From your photo it looks creamy.
