SuperSol Mineral Filter
Description
SuperSol Mineral Filter - Mineral Sun Protection with Karanja Booster
SuperSol Mineral Filter is an advanced sun protection system, provided as a ready-to-use oily dispersion, combining the mineral power of Zinc Oxide (non-nano) with the photoprotective properties of Karanja oil and Pongamol. This innovative formula eliminates the main disadvantages of classic mineral filters, offering a perfectly homogeneous dispersion, a pleasant texture, and, most importantly, high transparency on the skin. It is the ideal solution for creating natural sun products that provide high protection without leaving unsightly white marks.
Ingredients: Zinc Oxide, Pongamia Glabra Seed Oil*, Linum Usitatissimum Seed Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Helianthus Annus Seed Wax, Hydroxystearic Acid, Pongamol
*= organic
Characteristics
- Appearance: Fluid, viscous paste, white-yellowish in color.
- Solubility: Miscible in oils.
- Filter: Non-nano Zinc Oxide.
- Complementary actives: Contains Pongamol, a natural SPF booster extracted from the Karanja tree.
- Origin: 100% natural and vegetable, suitable for organic and natural cosmetics.
Main Properties
- Broad Spectrum Protection: Offers an effective physical barrier against UVA and UVB radiation. Ideal for mineral sun protection formulations SPF 30 & SPF 50+.
- Zinc oxide: Contains 60% ZnO in an anhydrous structure. Zinc oxide is recognized for its ability to absorb UV rays, but also for its anti-inflammatory and healing effects on the skin.
- Transparent Effect: Dispersion technology ensures an almost invisible appearance on the skin, eliminating the "white mask" effect.
- Photoprotective Synergy: Karanja oil and Pongamol naturally enhance the effect of Zinc Oxide, allowing for a high SPF.
- Nourishing and Soothing: The linseed oil and sunflower wax in the composition protect the skin barrier and prevent dehydration under the sun's action.
- Water Resistance: Being an oily base, it adheres better to the skin and favors the formulation of water-resistant products.
Usage Recommendations
Recommended dosage: 5% – 40%.
In general, a 20% dosage can provide a medium SPF (approximately 15-20), but the final value depends on the entire formula and the presence of other photoprotective ingredients. For very high protection, it is recommended to use at the maximum concentration or combine with other filters. At a 40% dosage in an O/W emulsion, the SPF can reach 53.5.
Applications
- Natural sun creams and lotions for face and body.
- Day products with integrated sun protection.
- Protective lip balms and makeup products with SPF (BB Cream).
- Sun products dedicated to children and people with very sensitive skin.
Formulation Guide
- Procedure: Incorporate into the oil phase of the preparation.
- Homogenization: Energetic mixing of the product before use and during formulation is essential to ensure a uniform distribution of the mineral particles.
- Temperature: Heat resistant, can be added to the oil phase before emulsification.
- Technical tip: For optimal stability over time, ensure the emulsion is well-structured to prevent zinc oxide sedimentation.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why does this product contain Karanja oil?
Karanja oil (Pongamia Glabra) is used not only for emollience but also because it naturally contains molecules (such as Pongamol) that absorb UV radiation, acting as a natural booster for the mineral filter.
Is this product reef-safe?
Yes, non-nano Zinc Oxide is considered "reef-safe" because its particles are too large to be ingested by marine organisms, unlike chemical or nano filters.
Can I use this filter in a water-based serum?
No, this product is an oily dispersion. It can only be used in emulsions (where an oil phase exists) or in anhydrous products (without water), such as body butters or dense oils.
Safety in Use
Profile: Safe mineral and vegetable ingredient, non-irritating, ideal for any skin type.
Precautions: Intended exclusively for cosmetic use. Do not ingest. Avoid direct contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage: Store in the original packaging, in a cool, dry place. If slight separation is observed on the surface (oil), mix thoroughly before sampling to re-homogenize the dispersion.
