Retinyl Palmitate (Retinyl Palmitate)

Retinyl Palmitate is an ester form of vitamin A used in cosmetic formulations to support skin renewal, improve the look of fine lines and uneven texture, and promote a more radiant, even-looking complexion over time. Considered a gentler, more stability-oriented vitamin A derivative compared with pure retinol, it is commonly used in anti-aging and tone-refining products where gradual visible improvement and enhanced skin smoothness are desired. Retinyl palmitate is oil-soluble and typically incorporated into emulsions, facial oils, serums, and night creams, often paired with antioxidants (such as tocopherol) to help protect against oxidation and maintain performance. Because vitamin A derivatives can be sensitive to light and oxygen and may increase skin reactivity in some users, formulations are generally designed with stabilization strategies, appropriate packaging, and conservative use levels—especially in leave-on products—along with guidance to use daily sun protection to help support results and minimize sensitivity.
