Formulation and Customization Guide
- Procedure: Processed at room temperature. A total of 5% ingredients can be added to the shampoo base, and up to 10% in some formulations. Introduce actives, extracts, or fragrances gradually under gentle stirring to avoid excessive air incorporation and foam formation within the product mass.
- Viscosity Behavior: Adding vegetable oils, essential oils, and fragrances will almost always lead to a decrease in viscosity and foaming. Limit additions to a maximum of 0.5% - 1% of the total formula.
- Additives: The shampoo base can be customized with specific hair care ingredients such as vege-keratin, vege-collagen, honeyquat, silk protein, maca fortis extract, marine-z, panthenol.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is it still necessary to add a preservative if I introduce ingredients into this base?
The preservative system is capable of protecting the final blend with an addition of up to a maximum of 10% supplementary ingredients.
Why doesn't the shampoo foam as much after I added castor oil?
Vegetable oils decrease the viscosity and foaming power of such a product. To maintain optimal performance of the base, it is generally recommended to avoid adding vegetable oils and instead use water-soluble actives for conditioning.
