Hello Daisy, Although the two ingredients behave differently, substitution is possible. We recommend 0.5 - 0.6% HMW instead of xanthan gum. Pre-mix the HMW HA with the glycerin before adding the other ingredients. The final pH of the serum does not allow the addition of water-soluble vitamin C.
