Hi Daniela, For use with children, we recommend adding xylitol instead of bicarbonate to sweeten the toothpaste a little bit naturally and replacing peppermint essential oil with an aromatic fruit extract.

If I omit the bicarbonate, would it be suitable for children?

Hi Mihaela, You can add 5% xylitol in phase A, adjusting the amount of calcium carbonate.

Yes, Fragard can be a solution, you can also apply it to hair conditioner, but note that it is not suitable for formulations that contain only water and aqueous ingredients.

Yeah, then I realised it must be cosgard, because I bought a hair care serum and it has cosgard in it and it makes my scalp itch. I've used it in two products so far, but then it doesn't seem to work for me. I usually use the rokonsal, with lactic acid added to adjust the ph. My question is, could fragard be the solution for me?! Can it be used in a hair conditioner?!

Thank you for your reply! Then I'd better not use cosgard for anything. I'm still trying to figure out which one it was.

Dear Katalin, we are sorry to hear that the toothpaste has this effect. This is a quite old recipe, we have not received similar feedback so far. Mint essential oil could be the problem, but we suspect cosgard. Have a nice day!

The toothpaste turned out perfect, except I'm allergic to something in the recipe, because my gums turned red in no time! Which additive was most likely to cause this?!

Hello! You can supplement the glycerin as much as needed, it doesn't cause any problems. Regarding the tube in question, indeed the nominal volume is 50 ml, but the actual volume is larger. To increase the volume of the prepared product, you need to add extra of all the ingredients proportionally. Good luck, and have a nice day!

Hello. Regarding the recipe Toothpaste Formula: 113016 it is specified that glycerine can be added in addition to the recipe, if the composition is too compact. I added a few good extra ounces, as it was very stiff. 1. The question is how much glycerin can I put in to be okay and not affect oral hygiene? 2. I noticed that although the recipe is formulated for 50 ml, in the 50 ml soft tube there is still a quarter of an empty tube left. How can I adjust the recipe to get 50 ml? I add more calcium carbonate and adjust with glycerin? Thank you very much, Raluca P.S. By the way, the toothpaste is wonderful, we love it! I just want to make sure that adding more glycerine (until the paste comes out soft) is correct and doesn't cause problems.

Hello! Basically yes, it can be substituted, but we find it too bitter for such applications. The dosage would be the same.
