Sodium Coco-Sulfate (Sodium Coco-Sulfate)

Sodium Coco-Sulfate is an anionic surfactant blend produced by sulfating fatty alcohols typically derived from coconut, used in cosmetic and personal care formulations for effective cleansing and strong foam generation. It provides robust removal of oils and soils and is often selected for products where a rich, high-lather experience and good rinse-off are key performance targets. Compared with milder surfactants, it can feel more “deep-cleansing,” so it is frequently balanced with amphoteric and non-ionic co-surfactants, conditioning polymers, and emollients to improve mildness and reduce the perception of dryness. Sodium Coco-Sulfate is commonly found in shampoos, body washes, bubble baths, facial cleansers, and cleansing bars, including “sulfate-based” and some “plant-derived surfactant” positioning depending on sourcing. Use level and performance are formulation-dependent and typically optimized with pH, electrolyte/thickener choices, and the overall surfactant package to achieve the desired viscosity, foam quality, and skin or scalp comfort.
