Silk-Derived Amino Acids (Silk Amino Acids)

Silk Amino Acids are a blend of low–molecular weight amino acids and peptides obtained from hydrolyzed silk proteins, valued in cosmetic formulations for their moisturizing, smoothing, and conditioning performance. Acting as water-binding humectants, they help improve skin softness and suppleness while supporting a more refined, silky after-feel, and can also contribute to enhanced hydration and comfort in dry or sensitized skin concepts. In hair care, Silk Amino Acids form a lightweight conditioning film that helps improve manageability, reduce the look of frizz, and add a smooth, glossy appearance without heavy buildup. Well-suited to sensorial, “silky touch” positioning, they are commonly used in serums, moisturizers, masks, cleansers, shampoos, conditioners, leave-in sprays, and styling products, typically at low to moderate use levels and formulated to be compatible with a wide range of skin and hair types.
