Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil (Tea tree leaf essential oil)

An essential oil steam-distilled from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree), used in cosmetics primarily for fragrance and for its purifying, deodorizing, and skin-/scalp-conditioning profile. It is valued in formulas targeting oily or blemish-prone skin and in scalp-care products due to naturally occurring terpenes (notably terpinen-4-ol), which are associated with antimicrobial-supportive activity and a “fresh/clean” sensory feel. Typical applications include facial cleansers, spot gels, masks, shampoos, scalp tonics, body washes, and deodorizing products, usually at low concentrations and often balanced with soothing ingredients.
