Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil (Eucalyptus leaf essential oil)
An aromatic essential oil distilled from the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus, used in cosmetics mainly as a fragrance ingredient and for its fresh, camphoraceous sensory profile. It typically contains a high proportion of 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol), which is associated with a cooling, clarifying feel and deodorizing/purifying perception, making it common in shower gels, soaps, bath products, balms, and scalp-care formulas. In hair and scalp products it is often included to support a “clean scalp” sensation and fragrance lift, and in body products it can enhance a refreshing, spa-like experience. As with many essential oils, it contains fragrance allergens and can be irritating or sensitizing, especially on sensitive or compromised skin and in leave-on applications, so responsible low-level use, suitable formulation, and compliance with allergen labeling requirements are recommended; patch testing is advisable for reactive individuals.
